There are just days when everything flows smoothly and even though there are some unexpected surprise (#bathroomdrama #everyonemakesmistakes) and challenges here and there... lots was accomplished and the kids had fun. I love my teaching team. We work together so well now; everyone works collaboratively in different ways to make it all work.
We are reading the Little Red Hen (it was the literature piece to the Ball Unit... don't ask), but it's been fun. We had an idea and within an afternoon:
- We booked a visit to the bakery across the street to observe how bread is made. (We will make our own bread as well, but having bakeries on every corner makes it a perfect opportunity to go out in the community too!
- We got administrative approval for the short notice trip.
- Permission slips were printed along with a letter to parents.
- The nice ladies in the cafeteria gave us 24 hair nets to wear for the trip.
- We came up with a list of things to bake next week and planned out our center activities.
I love my teaching team! And the students will have another experience they will remember!

We are going to the Getty Center next week.
I wanted to get the kids excited about art.
This is the BEST book about the impact teachers have.
It's also a perfect book for art introduction.
"Art is Never Wrong"... "Everything is Art"... "Everyone is an artist."
*Random added bonus during read aloud: Nathan changed his mind that pink and purple were for girls. |
