96/180 Nine Minutes of Problem Solving aka Three Phase Math Lesson Continues...

I am just in awe at the growth I see each day.
We may not all be where we "should" be, but...
I have seen some growth in every single child.

Some more than others.
Some social emotional growth,
Some speech and language growth,
Some know how to cut out shapes and use a pencil,
Some can follow the routines of the classroom,
Some have learned to ask for help,
Some can open a milk carton,
Most can write their names,
Most can count to 10, and
All can show kindness.

They play to learn 4x during the day (both indoor and outdoor): Student Directed
We have our structured center rotations once a day: Teacher Directed
Each small group engages in quick activities that develop school readiness skills.
9-12 minutes each since attention span is short!

Today we revisited the Three Phase Math Lesson (In small groups).

I wanted to introduce a simple rubric for our Three-Phase Math Lesson.
The story: Three kids went to the office. Some were goes and some were boys.
1: I did not understand the story, but attempted.
2: Understood some of the story. (Showed some boys and some girls)
2: Understood some of the story. (Showed the quantity of 3)

3: Understood and showed the story. (Showed some boys and some girls, showed 3 children)
 Criteria:
1. Understand the story.
2. Showed quantity of 3.
3. Showed some girls and some boys.
4. Can explain thinking.
